As our working lives are becoming more complex with increasing challenges, having the ability to utilise skills and strengths to cope and recover from problems and challenges is essential
What is resilience?
Resilience is our ability to withstand, deal with and/or recover from difficult situations. It includes our ability to make the best of things, cope with stress and rise to the occasion. We all have this ability, though maybe not always as much as we’d like.
Research has shown that training in resilience reduces our risk of depression, anxiety and stress-related harm, while becoming better at coping with adversity helps us get more from life. With the times of uncertainty we live in, this is a much needed skill.
Workshop content
Just as with other skills we are able to teach ourselves that resilience is something that we can do rather than something that some people just have.
This 4 hour workshop gives you tools and techniques to start working on and building your resilience
This workshop can help you to:
Parts of this course will create an awareness of what your own approach is to change and how, by building your resilience, this can be more positive with the ability to transform any situation into an opportunity.
By learning how to view things in a different and realistic way, you will see the importance of developing a growth mindset and the knock-on effect it will have to improving your problem solving and creativity skills.
Identifying your feelings and building an awareness of when you need to, where necessary, control them can greatly enhance both your performance and your relationships with others. This, along with exploring and practicing mindfulness will help your ability to perform when under pressure without having adverse effects on your wellbeing.
Learning about your own boundaries and their importance, as well as respecting other people’s. This, together with an understanding of the importance of developing your resilience skills, will help you become more efficient with both managing your workload and other commitments
“The oak fought the wind and was broken, the willow bent when it must and survived.”
Robert Jordan, The Fires of Heaven
